about

Conceived of by The Polycubist (Skor Records), de'fchild productions is proud to present this 4 tracker that brings together the English and Amharic language entreaties of Isaac Haile Selassie and the production talents of Jack Dangers, dubLoner (aka [a]pendics.shuffle), Gys and Ruoho Ruotsi. Each producer's track brings a distinct yet constrasting perspective, musicality and respect for Isaac's spoken word.

The 12" record jacket/cover artwork was made using a 117 year-old antique letterpress, producing a warm, hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind musical-artistic statement that merges old and new technologies in a way that is rare in today's music industry. We hope you enjoy it!!

about

de’fchild productions is an independent label and music production imprint currently located in San ... more Francisco.

Our technical work in the studio has us continually thinking about ways to cultivate genuinely new means of musical expression. This predilection to studio-borne-inspiration is particularly present in our affection for idioms rooted in dub, experimental electro-acoustics & techno. less
